I was interviewed a few days ago by SmartMoney.com [WSJ Article: Sedona], a WSJ website. They wanted my views on the problems with some of the online real estate websites, namely Trulia and Zillow. As I mentioned in a previous post, they are inherently inaccurate in most of the country. For instance, when we list a home, it’s aggregated out to around 300 websites. No way an agent can keep up with that. The home listing info is good to start with but for the most part, we have no way to update it when it’s sold or the price changes.
When clients look on these websites, they often find properties that may be attractive but aren’t available any longer. Many find this frustrating. The most accurate list of homes and home information for the Sedona Arizona area is available right here.
