I had a question from a client the other day. Does Sedona have any impact fees when you build a home? The answer is yes. You have the City of Sedona Development Fee when you build in Sedona and as of this writing, it breaks out like this:
For Single-Family Residential Detached home in Sedona AZ
- Sedona Parks and Recreation: $6.718
- Sedona General Government: $264
- Sedona Police: $313
- Sedona Transportation: $1,939
- Total: $9,234.00
I personally find the Parks & Rec charge to be grossly overdone. Instead of pushing so much money into Parks and Rec it would be nice to see some money set aside for Sewer and Water development. We are also seeing a lot of people that get Lounging Lizards to build a 2 storey granny flat to have a guest home on their property.
I can’t complain though as we live in the Village of Oak Creek, outside the city limits of Sedona.
